Intercalated kaolinite as an emerging platform for cancer therapy

An innovative cancer therapy strategy regarding the interface engineering of kaolinite has been designed. The exposed silanol group facilitates more guest species with high dispersion on the supports. Mn_3O_4 magnetic nanoparticles are uniformly distributed on external surfaces of the Kaolin_(C12N)with the Al–O–Mn bond for the detection of the tumor microenvironment by T1-MRI; Doxorubicin(DOX) are loaded in the interlayer space with the electrostatic interaction for chemo-treating; and KI is coated on the outer layer of the nanocomposites based on the electrostatic interaction for thyroid cancer targeting. The synergetic effects and the treatment mechanism enhanced by the interface engineering, KI@DOX-Mn_3O_4-Kaolin_(C12N)can cause remarkably low cell viability(57%, 200 μg/mL), tumor shrinking(75%, 20 μg/kg), and accumulation into the tumor tissues. The novel kaolinite based drug delivery system is expected to incorporate imaging diagnosis, targeted therapy and drug delivery into one single system for postoperative residual thyroid cancer treatment and observation for metastasis of focal area.     

ZnO-PSAⅡ型异质结界面电荷转移过程研究

采用稳态光致发光光谱和纳秒时间分辨瞬态光谱(NTRT-PL)表征,揭示ZnO-PSA II型纳米异质结光生载流子电荷转移过程,通过甲基橙光降解实验,测得ZnO-NRs和ZnO-PSA紫外光降解率分别为25.5;和60.1;,光降解率提高到2.4倍,表明II型异质结相对于单一半导体而言,能促进光生载流子在界面间电荷转移,有利于载流子的分离.     

Optical Trapping with Focused Surface Waves

Near-field optical trapping can be realized with focused evanescent waves that are excited at the water–glass interface due to the total internal reflection, or with focused plasmonic waves excited on the water–gold interface. Herein, the performance of these two kinds of near-field optical trapping techniques is compared using the same optical microscope configuration. Experimental results show that only a single-micron polystyrene bead can be trapped by the focused evanescent waves, whereas many beads are simultaneously attracted to the center of the excited region by focused plasmonic waves. This difference in trapping behavior is analyzed from the electric field intensity distributions of these two kinds of focused surface waves and the difference in trapping behavior is attributed to photothermal effects due to the light absorption by the gold film.

密度泛函理论研究MN@H_2O (M=Ga,Ge, In,Sn, Sb; N=M,Al)团簇的特性

采用密度泛函理论的B3LYP, B3P86, B1B95, P3PW91和PBE1PBE方法结合SDD, LANL2DZ和CEP-121G基组计算了d~(10)组态二聚物MN(M=Ga, Ge, In, Sn和Sb; N=M和Al)的几何结构.采用B3P86/SDD进一步研究了MN@H_2O团簇的几何结构及吸附能.结果表明,水分子结合在二聚物M_2上时,对二聚物影响较大,对水分子自身影响较小.将M_2中Ga, Ge, In, Sn或Sb替换一个原子为Al时,水分子在GeAl和SnAl上的吸附能变化较大,而在GaAl, InAl和SbAl上吸附能变化较小.另外, H_2O吸附在Ga, Ge, In, Sn和Sb上时,与吸附在Al上时,吸附能的变化不大.

Preparation of a novel bentonite intercalation composite by changing the chemical state of aluminum

A new environment-friendly bentonite intercalation composite was successfully obtained from alumina sol intercalation. This process used industrial grade pseudo boehmite as the aluminum source and provided with the advantage of zero emission of acidic wastewater. The bentonite intercalation composite was investigated by XRF, ICP, XRD, FT-IR, BET, and pyridine-FTIR. Results indicated that the basal spacing was enlarged from 14.72 to 15.60 Å; the specific surface area increased by 128%; and the total acid content increased from 65.32 to 245.76 μmol/g. The catalytic activity of this composite was tested by alkylation of aromatics with olefins. The results show that the weak Lewis acid generated by extra-framework aluminum and specific surface area play a decisive role, while weak Brønsted acid site is not the active site for this alkylation reaction.
